audrey-tautou-for-elle-canada-02 Under the influence of Jos, I am so into French fashion classics, and very smittened by the hairpiece I saw at Far East….

Should I get it? It’s 59 bucks. Never my style, but never say never.

YES?

Julie&Julia

First of all, fuck my computer for shutting down while I was merrily typing the post. Now I am on ‘summary’ blogging mode:

Happy Deepavali to my dearest potato! It has been 3 days since he left home for Deepavali but it seems like forever. I am looking forward to his arrival coming Thursday. I have so much to fill him in. On a random note, I bought the potato a little cute Little Miss Sunshine soft toy. I was jumping when I saw it outside the store at Kallang Leisure Mall and I knew I had to get it. Soft toys like these transport me back to my younger days where life was significantly less harsh and much simpler. These are things that made me happy in the past, and I want to share it with my boyfriend. heehee.

So, I managed to catch Julie&Julia and I love the movie to bits. The movie has stirred alot of thoughts alive in my head, and I am definitely inspired; not just about cooking, but about setting goals and plans in life, including the most improbable ones, and striving to complete them. The movie transports us back and forth between the early 1940s and 2005, where two women seek to find directions in their life and career and found them through their passion to cook. Based on true stories, they are both very accomplished women that they had their books published, and following their success, having books published about them and having their life stories retold through a movie adaptation. And if the movie has accurately reflected the lives and characteristics of Parisians (as has Coco before Chanel), I must say how lucky they are back in the old days. I would be weaving hats for a living my whole life! Anyway, back to the movie. I think I can resonate better with the later era, aka Julie, as I have always aspired to have a column or a voice of my own, sharing and connecting my life with others through the blogosphere. I have always wanted to be a “small somebody” that inspires people around the globe.

So, I am whipping up grand plans for Christmas and my birthday this year, to celebrate the festive and joyous occasion with the people that I care and cherish. I am left with 2 more months before the year wraps up, and I wish by then, I would be able to say that I have accomplished the tiny projects that I have set out for in October. Of course, all these grand plans will not be possible for a few partners in crime and my family members.

I need to complete the tasks long overdue, and I want to do something momentous this year. Will share more when I have more concrete ideas.

Anyway, Meryl Streep is one of the most talented and dynamic actress in Hollywood, and her performance in Julie&Julia is a classic testament. Amy Adams is as amazing and gorgeous as she was in Night of the Museum 2. Please, go watch the movie!

I’ll leave you to decide with this:

Good night!

Life is good

Back from PT 21. Yeah, I sort of stopped documenting my training exercises again. As usual. But anyway, good news is, i’m not sitting on my sunk costs, and that I remain resolute about losing weight and looking fit and toned. It has been 21 PT so far, 9 to go. Pity that M has to leave FF but all for a good cause. I’m happy that she is getting some deserving break and enjoying her married life. I wish her all the best, and hope to see her somewhere, someday down the road. She has after all, made a difference in my life. Although I know that M will not be reading this, but anyhow, M, thanks for inviting me to your wedding. May your little angel grow up to be a fun and spontaneous as you are. And of course, so slim and fit too.

Was playing with some new presentation themes on WordPress, but very disappointing that I did not fancy any. What’s up with WordPress? Come on, blogspot has beautiful skins and even has an avenue for us to download free blogskins. Buck up. One of the very few decent things that has happened so far about WordPress is its Twitter-enabled feature.

Anyway. Just ranting. This week is passing by so slowly. But on a very exciting note, I can’t wait to go for Dear Joscelin’s engagement party coming Saturday. I am gonna be Jiemei for two of my colleagues-turned-good friends weddings next year, and I already envisaged just how my bridesmaid dress would look like.

Congrats to Joscelin, Joanne and their respective spouses. Thanks for basking love, optimism, and fun to my life. And trust that I will diligent buy BRIDAL magazines and give you potential leads and accompany you for gown shopping.

I will be loving my weekend.

Early toasting to a better year

I know that I have been the least attentive to my friends these few weeks, owing to the combination of work, late nights and some personal matters to attend to. When weekend comes, I just want to completely unwind in my comfort zone and spend quality time with the tiggy. (uh yes, puppy has decided to be renamed as tiggy)

Anyhow, your concerns on my well-being has been most appreciated. You know who you are. Just to let all of you know that i am also one call away from your pains and problems, as I know you will be for me. Let me iron out my issues and I will come to you.

I’m not sure if maturing and aging come with growing pains and problems, but I certainly hope not. Perhaps it’s generally a bad year for people in the Ox year, where the superstitious and the pious agree that this is a “bear” year against the “bull”. Friends around me have been also experiencing some hiccups – relationships, work, family etc. I wish that things will only improve from here. And I know it will.

A consoling note, of which it has never failed to lift my spirits, is that the end of the year is approaching, a time where we celebrate Christmas (yay!), celebrate the start of a new beginning and importantly, celebrate life.

It has been helluva 24 years.

And this year, I want everyone that I care most in the world to celebrate this moment with me.

TOAST!
