Life is good

Back from PT 21. Yeah, I sort of stopped documenting my training exercises again. As usual. But anyway, good news is, i’m not sitting on my sunk costs, and that I remain resolute about losing weight and looking fit and toned. It has been 21 PT so far, 9 to go. Pity that M has to leave FF but all for a good cause. I’m happy that she is getting some deserving break and enjoying her married life. I wish her all the best, and hope to see her somewhere, someday down the road. She has after all, made a difference in my life. Although I know that M will not be reading this, but anyhow, M, thanks for inviting me to your wedding. May your little angel grow up to be a fun and spontaneous as you are. And of course, so slim and fit too.

Was playing with some new presentation themes on WordPress, but very disappointing that I did not fancy any. What’s up with WordPress? Come on, blogspot has beautiful skins and even has an avenue for us to download free blogskins. Buck up. One of the very few decent things that has happened so far about WordPress is its Twitter-enabled feature.

Anyway. Just ranting. This week is passing by so slowly. But on a very exciting note, I can’t wait to go for Dear Joscelin’s engagement party coming Saturday. I am gonna be Jiemei for two of my colleagues-turned-good friends weddings next year, and I already envisaged just how my bridesmaid dress would look like.

Congrats to Joscelin, Joanne and their respective spouses. Thanks for basking love, optimism, and fun to my life. And trust that I will diligent buy BRIDAL magazines and give you potential leads and accompany you for gown shopping.

I will be loving my weekend.

Session 9 and 10: Chests, Arms, Back

Managed to only squeeze in 2 PT sessions (only 1 per week) over the busiest two weeks.

Was already half zonked out by the time I reached the gym at 8pm after my work, and frankly, I can’t really remember what I did and I kinda forgotten what exercises I’ve done. Darn.

The only vague recollection was that M worked on my upper chests in PT 9, and more on the lower back and arms in PT 10. Reckon that weights do help alot to sculpt the physique better; I’m starting to see more sustained curves. Lower back exercises was bad. I can’t seem to get the posture right (probably too tall for the equipment), and I felt excruciating pain, as if my back is gonna break any moment, when i lift myself up with my lower back.

Well, let’s hope Session 11 will be better!

PT Session 8: Arms, Shoulder Blades

10 min into cardio, M got me to work on stronger weights and dumbbells to shape up my arms.

It was a great lesson, as I get to know my physical strengths and weaknesses better. Now I know that my left arm is the weaker arm and more focus should be on strengthening it. Push-ups are a real challenge, as I could hardly pull upself up towards the end, either my body is too heavy, or my arms are too weak to support of up. My legs, on the flip side, are much much stronger. I attribute my right arm power and legs to my tennis and running experiences…

M also innovated new moves on the same machines; I really like the diversity of the exercises.

Wrapped up the lesson with flat body balancing act, left arm and right leg up vv while sustaining flat horizontal posture; 3 sets of 5, 5 seconds on each balance. Abs came the last, with M clasping my feet and empowering me to take the bball from her when coming up, down, and then giving her back when pushing myself up again; 3 sets of 15.

Yikes.

PT Session 7: Upper Chest

And so i’m back.

You might already be aware that I burnt my weekend at the widely-publicized Asian Investment Conference & Exhibition (AICE) organized by SIAS. My company was one of the exhibitors, and we housed 4 listed-cos, of which 3 are our clients. Not to elaborate too much about work, but might I say that I emphatise with the minority investing public, and as such, emphasize our role as investor relations practitioners to urge and remind listcos to never overlook this weaker group but yet important cluster of shareholders and/or investors. My company’s target focus has always been more of institutional investors, but in light of all the the corporate frauds (especially coming from S-shares), we need to widen our scope to at least, seek to protect minority shareholders in some ways. Nevertheless, it was great engaging with the retail investors.

Anyway, PT session resumed as well. Worked mainly on the chest with weights and dumbbells, followed by intensive ab training with the ball (whatyacallthat?) supporting my back and holding a bball to push me forward. It was great feeling that I wasn’t that out of form despite missing gym/training for almost 2 full weeks.

Did 30 minute cardio and light full-body work out before I started PT at 8pm. Came back extremely knackered, zonked out not long after.

Plodding on, rachel, plodding on. Next up, 1H2009 earnings reporting season!
