9.30am – 10.00am – interrupted by Client 2 to revise press release written last night

10.00am – 11.00am – continue press release for Client 1

11.00am – discrupted by TNT; to courier out thumdrives for Client 3 to Beijing

11.45am – resume writing of press release for Client 1

12.10pm – buy back lunch

1.30pm – continue with press release for Client 1

2.30pm – complete press release for Client 1

3.30pm – client pass on final amendments of document

3.45pm – internal discussion on changes

4.45pm – make final amendments

6.00pm – send over to Client 1 for approval

Meanwhile, keep on refreshing SGX page to check Client 2’s release of announcement

Torturous.

One of the very rare moments where I get to blog from office – not that it is something good to start with though, considering that it’s 9.15pm right now.  Yes, of course i’m waiting for the little potato to get off.

Perhaps just to refresh about my last 3 days up at Nanjing. It was a work trip comprising mainly of 2 company visits. Can i just say that the Chinese management really really hosts guests extremely super duper well? I had the famous 大闸蟹 thrice in my entire trip, and the Chairman of one of the management actually gave me his too because he was so used to eating the crabs during this season. The Chairman of another management helped to crack open the shell for me and taught me how to eat the crab. And in line with their generous hospitality, I went home with two bags of gifts – one high quality 普洱茶 and a very traditional decorative china. It’s not just about working with the top management of a company, but also about learning life lessons from these experienced and educated leaders, and having them imparting values to you. If i ever leave my job one day, I reckon the most that i’ll miss about it would be the relationships that I have established and left behind with my clients.

Anyway, during my flight, I had this moment where I missed the potato terribly – and so I penned something really random.

The feeling of togetherness as a form of eternal normalcy:

The drive back home from the city; the panoramic view from the Sheares Bridge – basking the Fullerton Hotel, the Flyer, to the Singapore waters - the music radio from the car.

This perfect picture; this idea of life; this idea of journey.

Project Rachel underway – so far so good, with Saturday’s pre-grill dinner test with the potato and the real grill dinner tonight with my family and extended family. Wished that dad and ZY were around.

Shall post some pictures up when i get hold of them from my sis.

I’m starting to really really love my weekends. The potato and I have progressed – in a sense of doing something meaningful and different to keep ourselves equally occupied and enjoyable AND at a very reasonably lower cost. Best of all, these activities involved my family as well, and I love it that the potato was very very involved with the whole process – right from the start of developing the menu, initiating the pre-grill dinner test, choosing the spices and sauces to being the “head chef’ of the night.  I love them very much.

Grill dinner comprised of:

1) red and green capsicums grilled with onions

2) white mushrooms and sliced mushrooms coated with butter

3) chicken with teriyaki sauce

4) beef with black pepper sauce

5) sambal fillet fish

6) winter melon soup

7) aglio olio with chilli spice and prawns and sotong

prawns marinated with teriyaki and sambal sauce

9) roasted potatos coated with butter

10) grilled pineapple

To many more of such blissful weekends ahead.

 Under the influence of Jos, I am so into French fashion classics, and very smittened by the hairpiece I saw at Far East….

Should I get it? It’s 59 bucks. Never my style, but never say never.
